The low FODMAP diet has finally given me control of my IBS after nearly twenty years of battling with IBS symptoms. I still have occasional symptoms, aka “bad belly days”, however these are far less frequent and often are a result of eating too many of my high FODMAP trigger foods, eating too fast, hormones, and stress.
My goal is to help my clients achieve better IBS symptom control, consume a diverse diet, and to not be over restrictive with their food choices. I feel it is important to find your personal thresholds of high FODMAP foods and consume a diet rich in gut nourishing plant based fibers to maintain a healthy gut microbiome.
I truly enjoy working in the FODMAP community. Please read more of my articles at FODMAP Everyday and A Little Bit Yummy. You will also find me on the Spoonful app, a super helpful FODMAP scanner app designed to help you find low FODMAP food products.
Fun facts about me...Aside from my full-time nutrition practice you will often find me practicing hot yoga, inferno hot pilates, Barre3, swimming, running, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, or riding my mountain bike. I truly enjoy cooking and sharing meals with my friends and children.
Born and raised in Indiana, graduated from Indiana University Bloomington. Spent several years working in Chicago as an outpatient dietitian and now reside in beautiful Bend, Oregon where I get to play in the mountains, lakes, and trails.
