FODY low FODMAP Salsa
Finding a salsa without garlic or onion at your local is almost impossible until now. FODY low FODMAP salsa comes in both mild and medium that rivals most grocery store salsas. Here is my new favorite quick meal, the chickpea quesadilla. Since pinto beans are high FODMAP I swapped them with drained, canned chickpeas seasoned with FODY low FODMAP Taco Seasoning and mashed with my potato masher. Spread 1/4 cup chickpea mash and grated cheese between two corn tortillas, heat quesadilla on a pan or cast iron skillet, and serve with FODY low FODMAP salsa. This simple low FODMAP meal is both nutritious and delicious as it provides a boost of plant based fibers and protein. Canned and drained lentils make a nice alternative to chickpeas as well.
FODY low FODMAP Barbecue Sauce
This weekend grilling adventures included FODY low FODMAP Barbecue Sauce and Pork Rub from rub with love (which contains no garlic or onion) on Danish baby back ribs and they were delicious. FODY low FODMAP Barbecue Sauce delivers a sweet, tangy flavor without being too spicy. The whole family enjoyed this low FODMAP entree and I was able to indulge stress free.
Next up, pulled pork with FODY low FODMAP Barbecue Sauce served on a Udi's Gluten Free White Hamburger Bun.
FODY low FODMAP Snack Bars
As a dietitian and active mom these bars are one of my favorite go to snacks.
The Dark Chocolate, Nuts & Sea Salt bar provides 210 calories, 16 grams of carbohydrates, 14 grams of fat (mostly from the nuts), 6 grams of sugar, 6 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber. The Almond Coconut bar provides 210 calories, 13 grams of carbohydrates, 15 grams of fat (from nuts and coconut), 5 grams of sugar, 6 grams of protein and 3 grams of fibers.
These bars provide ~1.5 teaspoon of added sugar which is fairly low for a snack bar. Both are delicious and curb my appetite for several hours. These bars fit my recommendations of combining a healthy fat, protein, and fiber all wrapped up in one easy, yummy portable snacks. My kids are always trying to steal my FODY bars from my purse.
FODY low FODMAP Ketchup
Okay, let's be honest 13 grams or approximately 2 teaspoons of ketchup is not a lot. For those who want to enjoy larger portions of ketchup you need to try FODY ketchup. FODY low FODMAP ketchup tastes just like regular ketchup without the garlic and onions, it will not dissappoint. Here are my homemade sweet potatoes fries served with FODY ketchup. Just cut sweet potatoes, toss in a little avocado or olive oil and salt and bake at 425 degrees for ~18-20 minutes or until tender. Delicious!
