Casa de Sante Product Review

Are you familiar with Casa de Sante? Casa de Sante has a delicious array of low FODMAP products that have been tested and certified low FODMAP by the Monash University and FODMAP Friendly including spice mixes, salad dressings, salsa, digestive drinks, granola, curry sauce, soups, and more. Their website also contains many low FODMAP resources including meal plans and low FODMAP dining out tips.  As a Monash trained low FODMAP dietitian and IBS sufferer I understand the challenges of finding low FODMAP foods. I often recommend Casa de Sante products in my practice since they are a stress free, tasty option at any phase of the low FODMAP diet. Many Casa de Sante products can be substituted for a high FODMAP food without sacrificing flavor. Having these low FODMAP products on hand makes meal planning and recipe adaptation a breeze. As a full time dietitian with two children my time is often limited in the kitchen.

My favorite Low FODMAP Certified Casa de Sante Foods:

Italian Tuscan Herb Mix- with summer here cold pasta salads can be an easy lunch option and picnic contribution. In this recipe I used Ancient Grains Gluten Free Penne Pasta, 16 yellow cherry tomatoes, feta cheese (with 1 gram of sugar or less), black olives, and a vinaigrette made with Casa de Sante Tuscan Herb Spice. For the vinaigrette combine 1/2 cup olive oil, 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar and 2 teaspoons of Casa de Sante Tuscan Herb Spice. Keep portion size to 1/4 of total recipe to ensure safe portions of cherry tomatoes and balsamic vinegar. I had extra dressing to use on my salads later in the week.

Indian Spicy Hot Seasoning (caution, it is a little spicy ) adds a big punch of flavor to baked or grilled chicken. Serve alongside basmati rice and a low FODMAP vegetable for a quick, easy Indian inspired meal. Here is a picture of my grilled chicken using Casa de Sante Indian Spicy Hot Seasoning, 3/4 cup broccoli crowns, and roasted kabocha squash.

Adobe Seasoning - Here is a simple Latin inspired meal idea using Casa de Sante Adobe Seasoning. First I grilled 2 chicken breasts rubbed with the Adobe Seasoning spice. Next, I sautéed 6 mini bell peppers and 1 cup sliced zucchini with the Adobe Seasoning and avocado oil (or olive oi) in a wok until tender. (Safe portion is 1/2 of the sauteed vegetables) Serve alongside 1-3 corn tortillas based on your appetite.

BBQ Rub - who does not enjoy a summer BBQ? This new rub has become a family favorite that can be used on a variety of proteins such as chicken, ribs, and more. Just rub some of this spice on your protein of choice and place it on the grill.

Low FODMAP Certified Artisan Gluten & Oat Free Granola comes in several flavors; Tuscan Herb, Golden Turmeric, Indian Spicy Hot, and Plain . The  savory granola options can be a tasty salad toppers, grab and go snack, and also pairs well with  plain yogurt. This granola can also be crushed and used to coat a protein source such as chicken or fish for a crunchy, baked low FODMAP main dish. Here is a picture of a my salad with the Tuscan Herb Golden Granola.

One of my new favorite summer salads is made with baby greens, 4-5 cherry tomatoes, carrot, feta cheese (with 1 gram of lactose/sugar or less) and Casa de Sante Low FODMAP Certified Artisan Gluten & Oat Free Granola in Tuscan Herb.

I love the LemonAID Ayurvedic Digestive Drink and often reach for this beverage to help settle my stomach on bad belly days or to liven things up a little.

I just ordered the new Zen Soups which I plan on taking to work for a quick lunch, will provide feedback soon.
